CampusTours.comGreat site for those who can't get to visit the campus they want to see--provides a list of colleges by state or alphabetically who provide virtual online tours of their campuses.

Yahoo! Peterson's College SearchNice and very simple search engine which allows you to limit searches by college name, majors, location, "wiredness" (technology) and enrollment size.

FinAid! Smart Student Guide to Financial Aid.  This award-winning site provides information on loans, scholarships and military aid.  FinAid! also offers personalized help and assistance with financial aid applications.

Scholarship Search: College Board Online.  This area of College Board Online is a search engine which attempts to match prospective students with sources of non-college financial aid (sources outside the college itself).  Highly recommended.

BrokeScholar.  Search through a database of more than 900,000 college scholarships.  In order for BrokeScholar to find scholarships for which you are eligible, you need to provide the site with some personal information.  BrokeScholar shows you each scholarship's name, how much money is available, and the application deadline. Click on the name of any scholarship and BrokeScholar shows you more in-depth information about that scholarship including applicable majors and schools, contact information, and even a link to the scholarship provider's Web site.

This site provides "objective information about Section 529 college savings plans and other ways to save and pay for college.  ... [It] compile[s] and analyze[s] the information that will help parents and financial professionals." The site features college saving plan basics, a FAQ about 529 plans, comparisons of various college savings plans, plan details for each state, links to news, and more. Additional detailed information is available for a fee.

College Savings Plan Network (CSPN)
 CSPN, formed as an affiliate to the National Association of State Treasurers, "monitors federal activities and promotes legislation that will positively affect Section 529 [college savings plan]programs." The site provides an overview of CSPN activities and FAQs about saving for college, 529 savings and prepaid accounts, and tax advantages and implications. Also includes tips for parents and grandparents, statistics, information for each state, and links to related information.

College Planning
